Publisher's Description:

ActiveResize Control - VBGold ActiveResize Control is an intelligent VB form resizer that makes your Visual Basic applications completely resolution-independent without the need to write any code. Design your applications at any screen resolution and have them run and look exactly the same at any screen resolution. This gives your applications an equally professional look and feel on all systems, resulting in increased sales of your software.

VBGold ActiveResize Control automatically resizes and repositions all controls (and captions, text, fonts) on VB forms when the form is resized either by the user or through code. The control automatically detects the resize event of its parent form and performs a proportional accurate resizing / repositioning on all form controls without requiring you to write a single line of code! Just drag and drop the control on the form and you are done!

ActiveResize handles virtually any type of controls. It also handles complex controls like the SSTab Tabbed Dialog control, all types of Microsoft DB Grids and Data Grids, as well as both the Microsoft FlexGrid (MSFlexGrid) and Hierarchical FlexGrid (MSHFlexGrid). Version 3.x also supports all types of Sheridan controls & Grids (SSDBGrid, SSOleDBGrid, SSDBCombo, etc.). It also supports the MS Toolbar control and the MS Calendar control. Unlike other resizer controls, ActiveResize automatically resizes the form background picture and the contents of picture boxes.

ActiveResize gives you great flexibility and control over the resize / reposition process. You can individually exclude any control(s) on the form from being resized and / or repositioned.

ActiveResize is perfectly optimized for maximum processing speed, resulting in a perfect ultra-fast resizing / repositioning process that is completely invisible by the user.

ActiveResize works with the 32-bit versions of Visual Basic (5.0 and 6.0).

ActiveResize has many great features. Take a look at these features on http://www.vbgold.com.

In the last 3 years I was looking for a resize control or code. Last week I discovered ActiveResize and I tested it a little. It seems to be the solution!!!

Failed To Work

Your application failed to work -

The control was very simple to install and implement but it did not resize the forms correctly. My application set the form size correctly without your control but after adding your control to the form it became too high and too narrow - remove the control and the size reverted to the correct size - I didn't change any of my code.

I used an alternative product (called ResizeKit) which has worked perfectly for me.

Author's Response:
Hi denisob,

If you could just took a few minutes of your time to contact us, we could have solved the issue for you immediately!

Note that almost all of our customers have tested and evaluated many other resizing controls (including ResizeKit) before deciding to purchase ActiveResize Control! Does this mean anything to you?!

We have even had received many reports from our customers indicating that no other resizing control did function on their complex applications other than ActiveResize Control!

Definitely, you are doing something in your form design or in your code, which prevents ActiveResize Control from functioning properly.

For example, it could be that some of your controls are located beyond the visible area of the form at design-time. You must drag the edges of your form at design-time so that all controls on it are visible.

Another thing that may confuse the control is using a ScaleMode for the form or for the controls, other than "Twips" (which is the VB default).

Lastly, changing the screen resolution while your project is open in the VB IDE could lead to undesired results as to the resizing function when you run your application!

Thank you, anyway!

Great potential but lacking a couple things

Active Resize would be great if a couple things were added/fixed. As it is right now I would not have much use for it. What it requires is the ability to resize the pictures in The back of listviews and buttons. Also the perspective ratios for the controls are not consistant. e.g. I have several textboxes on top of a listview. The text boxes are sized the same as the rows of text in the listview. However, when I stretch the form, the text boxes get out of allignment with the listview rows.
